Meet Me

Hi, I'm Rebecca — part strategist, part storyteller, part builder of things that didn't exist before. My career has been about one question: how do you make people care? Not just click, not just convert — but actually care about a brand, a platform, an idea. I believe this is through communities and content. My career spans editorial, product, marketing, creators and influencers, lifestyle, social strategy, and community at Firefox, Mozilla, Vice and Refinery29. I’m Director of Communications, Content & Creators at Firefox. During my time at Firefox I have: —> Grown the creator and influencer program from 10 creators to over 90 creators a year —> Increased social reach by 800%+ percent —> Launched new social communities in the US, Germany and Japan —> Created Rise25, an annual award and community celebrating people changing the internet for the better —> Put on two award shows, lead pop-up brand events in Chicago, NYC, LA, Berlin, and Munich and activations at Advertising Week and TwitchCon —> Co-produced a campaign with Disney —> Built content strateiges, social campaigns and editorial programs that make Firefox feel like a value choice, not just a browser. At Refinery29, I built and led the audience and content strategy teams, grew SEO traffic 400%, and helped launch the Canadian Refinery29 brand. At Vice, I ran editorial operations for the North American newsroom. Across my media career, I led branded content, social, and content strategy teams. I learned what it takes to tell stories at scale without losing the thing that made them worth telling.

Outside the job title: I've interviewed atomic bomb survivors in Hiroshima, danced on the Radio City Music Hall stage, moderated panels at SXSW and Tribeca X, and guest lectured at NYU and Elon University. I was selected for the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media in 2019. I mentor young women through Girls Write Now and young professionals through Digital Women Leaders and my weekly office hours.
